Travel & Lodging

Whidbey Island is close to Seattle and is a great launching pad for exploring the Pacific Northwest! Think of this as a destination wedding and consider taking a few extra days to explore and enjoy this magical area. Pack a raincoat!

Lodging

There are lots of great places to stay near the venue: The Coupeville Inn and The Anchorage Inn are close and cozy options, and Salty Vons Waterfront Inn is a great choice for families/larger groups looking to share a suite. There are lots of Airbnbs all over the island that are great options, too!

Flights

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

For our Midwest, East Coast, and international guests, SEA is your best bet for getting to the area. The airport is south of Seattle and about an hour from the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal. It is also a VERY busy airport – plan accordingly!

Paine Field Airport

If you are flying from the Bay Area or anywhere on the West Coast, Paine is a great option. It is north of Seattle and a 15-minute drive to the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal.

Driving

We recommend renting a car while you are here! While Uber is an option, you'll want the freedom to get around and adventure.

Getting to Whidbey

From the mainland, you have two options to get to Whidbey: taking a ferry or driving through Deception Pass. We highly recommend taking the ferry, which is a quintessential PNW experience.

⛴️ Ferry

If you choose to take the ferry from the Mainland, direct your GPS to the Mukilteo Ferry Terminal, where you’ll take a car ferry to Whidbey island. It’s a beautiful 20-minute ride and while it depends on the wait time for the ferry, this is usually the fastest option. The Mukilteo route doesn’t accept reservations, but you can check the status of your ship here. When you're ready to leave the island, direct your GPS to the Clinton Ferry Terminal, where you'll board a ferry back to the mainland.

🚗 Drive

If you choose to drive to Whidbey from the Mainland, direct your GPS to your final destination and check 'avoid ferries' in your settings. You'll hit some toll roads on the way, but it’s a beautiful drive over the Deception Pass Bridge.
